My H was running just fine when I put it up a few days ago. Started it today and wasn't sure iT was going to make it out of the shed. It was sputtering and acting like the carb was out of adjustment. I could get it running fairly well by adjusting the main adjustment screw. Then I noticed it was very sensitive to the choke positions, never like this before, so I took the air connection off at the carb and found out the screw that holds the choke plate has sheared, allowing it to move freely. I have two questions after all this rambling. First where do you suppose the head of that screw is? Second does the carb kit include that screw? Thanks Ed

The head of that screw is small and soft so if she didn't spit it out it will be stuck somewhere that don't matter. The kit that I got for my A had new screw's that fit the choke butter fly and I have some extra if you want to try them.

None of the kits I have ever gotten had those screws. As far as to where it went its probable been in and back out of the engine a long time ago.

Thats hard to say did you look for it at all. I saw a 400 diesle with a buterfly screw in the top of the piston imbeded. It depends on the kit you get but most of the completes come with a new screw. JON
