I'm playing with my 1941 farmall model A and I noticed a wide weld on the bellhousing. I guess its the bellhousing, its between the motor and trans. The weld is about a inch wide and about four inches in front of the trans. Is this factory or did someone break this tractor? Thanks for any info you can give.

As CNKS said, keep an eye on it. But it is fairly common to have a weld in that place on those Cub/A/B/C tractors with no structural frame rails. It will probably give you no problems and outlive all of us!

It was broken, whether or not it hurts anything depends on the quality of the weld -- it is a structural component so keep an eye on it.
