Hi Bob , Thanks for the offer but I found a trailer to rent . I think the next item on the list of want's is going to be moved to the list of need's ! It's a bigger headache than I thought it would be getting this tractor home . It was almost to the point of not being enjoyable anymore . But that's changed and it's a go for Sat. for us . I got the info I have been fretting about from the owner too . Now wish me luck that this tractor was worth the effort ;,) . Take care ...Randy

Hope all goes well on your trip to get the M. I know it can be a frutrating trip at times. Just be prepared as much as possible and, I agree, take tools along for as many incidentals as possible. please post a pic when you get 'er home. We'd all like to see what you are starting with.
Good luck!

Hi , I hope all goes well too ! Thanks ! We're taking some tool's but the owner told me he has driven it recently and everything but the light's work . This is my first Farmall and my second tractor . I have a Oliver 1755 that I bought with a " rebuilt " engine that I got less than 10 hours on before it lost all the oil pressure . Turn's out that their rebuild resulted in some spun bearing's and all they did was replace one piston anyway . So I got to rebuild that one last winter and it now has close to 100 hours on it and is doing fine . I want this one for a basic working tractor , to do the easy jobs like raking and running the elevator for moving hay into the mow . I tried posting the picture that I got off ebay a couple of times but it doesn't show up in the photo gallery after it say's the picture was succesfully uploaded I'll take some pictures with my camera phone and post them . Gotta go , gonna leave before the sun comes up tomorrow . Take care ...Randy

Sounds great. One thing that happened to me is I had an M that I picked up that would not move. It turned out to be the brakes were rusted so that the tractor wouldn't move. I just pulled the brake covers and bands off and the tractor moved just fine. Good idea to take some tools along in case something happens like that.

Have a good time with your tractor!

Bob

Hi Bob , The owner said it run's and drives ok , we'll see . Now that everything's in good order I believe that it's gonna be a good day tomorrow ! I'll wait and hold my judgement on the tractor till I get it home but I hope it's at least usable . The pictures on ebay show it's not that bad looking . Go to ebay and see if it's still viewable Item # 7554718417 . Gotta get some sleep , Take care ...Randy
