All 4 pistons are stuck.1&4 are 2/3 up and 2&3 are about 1/4 way up.The position of 2&3 won't let you get a socket on the top rod bolt to get the cap off---up in side of block against horizontal rib. A flat wrench gets between the ribs on the cap, and I can't get any room to turn it.1 & 4 I got the caps off,1 pushes up with a wood block and jack on the floor till the end of the rod jams between the block and crank, about 3/8 inch off movement.4 is the same except it pushed the sleeve out of the block, till the rod got stuck. How do I get these center 2 rods unbolted to get these pistons removed? They have been soaking in deisel first, but now dextron for the last week. Thanks for any help.

We use a product called KROIL OIL. I have never seen anything that this stuff wouldn"t loosen up. Smells like pine oil. Works like magic! Good luck.

Thanks for the help.I'm wondering if I will hurt the crank or anything, if I try to push either 2 or 3 down with a jack and block, when they are both stuck so hard? Maybe I should rig up 2 jacks and push on both at same time.I was thinking about trying heat to,Do you heat the liner just above the oil on top of piston or clean it out and heat the piston, or liner right at top edge of piston?May evev try Coke.

If you have a torch I would put some heat on those
pistons. You need to be patient too. You may need to reconnect the rods 1&4 loosely until 2&3
can be moved. They will free up using heat and
dextron for soaking. Hal

I am working on a farmall h with one stuck piston.I FEEL YOUR PAIN. This tractor has hod oil in the piston for over a year. I tried to jack the piston up from the bottom, no luck it would just pick up the tractor. as a last resort I called to find what a new piston would cost and I was going to bust it out. The service man said try COKE. ILOVECOKE. I Cleaned out the oil filled the piston with coke. FOUR HOURS LATER with a wooden block and a hyd jack supported by a chain over the top of the jack and attached to the frame Not The Head Bolts the piston broke free on the first try. I must admitt I had a 20 ton jack.It was kill or cure time. I was lucky to have flat top pistons so I didnt worry about crushing the dome of the piston. SOLD ON COKE. Dont know if I want to drink it anymore.

My dad has maintained that Coca-Cola is the best thing for freeing up stuck engines. Never tried it myself, but back in middle school, we did some experiments for science class. That stuff ate an 8 penny nail in a matter of a few days as I recall...

I wonder what's happening in our stomach's drinking that. I've heard the expression "a gut of iron". Hal

Nothing is happening in your stomach unless you have a disorder like acid-reflux becasue your stomach produces one of the strongest acids known (hydrochloric) in order to digest the food that you consume.

Maybe drinking Coke is probably reducing the amount of acid your body needs to make to digest your food... Just a thought. :>)

I just had a similar problem with an engine in my grader, after 2 weeks of soaking no luck so I got a big piece of oak that just barely fit in the cylinder and 8 inches long and pounded it with a sledge hammer. Got it out and pistons were not hurt. Had a hard time getting rings out and grooves cleaned though.

Just a guess/idea. You might, if the engine is out, pull all the main bearings loose and that might let the crank drop down some so you can get to the bolts. You also might topp off each cylinder with turpentine and see if that helps. By the way I do mean turpentine not paint thinner.
