I have been able to find a source for acrylic tubing the exact diminsions for the United Specialities Pre Cleaner that was an option for the Super C and maybe other farmall tractors. (Maybe even other brands also). Now I really need some help in finding a picture of an original pre cleaner that shows the decal on the pre cleaner plastic sleve. I can make the decal myself if I can just get a picture. Those of you that are thinking, "wonder how much he would charge to make me one?", well, it won"t be cheep. The tubing alone cost me $20.00 a foot and I can only get it in 8 foot lengths. I would imagine it would be in the $40 to $50 range. If you don"t care about the decal, maybe around $35. It does take some heating and shaping around the bottom. Any way, we"ll see who"s interested. In the mean time, I need that picture!

Maybe you should make a small business out of this refurbishing this type precleaner, at least until your eight feet of tubing is used up. I too have a core that I'd sell reasonably.

Though badly warped and discolored from heat, mine had some unreadable markings on it. My parts book also shows a heat shield to be part of the "lid" that goes on the top of these things. I suspect many of the heat shields got lost and that's why so many of this type precleanes has bad plastic.

George, you receive my daily ingenuity award for your approach to a workable solution. I used to live near Seattle, Washington, and between the pulp plants, breweries, Boeing aerospace and airplane plants, ship building, salvage and retrofit operations and with a little time anything, could be located in the way of material at the local salvage yards. Thanks for sharing, Hal

Boeing Surplus was always one of my favorite places to visit over there. I always tried to stop there every time over. Are they still open? I haven't been there in about 5 years.

Dave, I'm sure they are as I was there last spring. They were still near Kent at 212th off of 167 I believe. Seems like days of operation is different now like late week and Saturday only. You should be able to find them on the Boeing website as I recall they used to be there. A couple other good salvage yards were Pacific Iron and Metal on 6th Ave. South, and Puget Sound Salvage, on 4th Ave. South. Also, Alaskan Brass and Copper was a good place if you needed new material like Stainless Steel, etc. or short pieces from their cut-off bins. I think there was another place called Metal Shorts in the same general area of south Seattle.
Good luck and send me an e-mail if you can't locate a phone no. as I still have lots of contacts at Boeing. Hal

The only reason that I think there is a decal is that the picture in the parts manual shows there to be one! I have never seen an original.
