Check the serial number category on the left, under the Research & Info heading.

Unlike the Super Hs and Super Ms, IH didn't start over with new serial numbers on the Super As and Super Cs. They continued with the original numbering scheme, naming an arbitrary cutoff point where Super production began.

The "F" stands for Farmall. I'm not really sure what the first "A" stands for (Farmall Hs have a "B" in this position), but the last "A" means it's an A-series tractor, and the serial number indicates that it's a Super A.

FAA is just IH's designation for the A/Super A. A serial numbers ended with 220829, Super A serial numbers began with 250001.

HI Steve: Guy Fay's Date Book shows that the prefix FAA was a chassis prefix on the Super A and the prefix FAAM was an engine serial number prefix on the Super A. The Chassis number should be on the tool box and the seat support. I don't have an "A", so maybe someone else will clarify this.
