I have aquired a set of IH 2 bottom fasthitch plows. They have the large points and will fit my 240 and 340 utility's and my Farmall 350 Diesel. Does anyone know what the ID# is for these plows? They have the big spring in front and they do not trip the spring gives when you hit a rock. I was told they might be a #21 but I have no idea. I have only found a small IH Decal but that's it everything else has been weathered. Thanks for any help.

Mr. Allen, The plow you are describing with large points and a cusion hitch sounds like the original fast hitch plow. These was called 34-F20 from 1955 to 1957 and the model 20 plow from 1957 to 1958. These plows with the "Breakaway Hitch" feature had the letter A added(34-F20A).
I've just bought one of these to use on my F450D. The 21 series fast hitch plows were the two bottom-two way roll-over plows.

Do you have closeup picture of the rear of the Farmall A with the 16-inch moldboard plow attached? Hal

Those plows could be adjusted from about 12" to 16" via the holes between the beams (you'll see about 3 or 4 holes that you can adjust it with). I have the small prong "C20" plow so the 21 may be right. The designation was originally painted on top of the beam (rear plow beam)Mine still shows thru after 50 couple years so you may be able to see it now (pour some old motor oil on the beams and let it sit, you may be surprised at how it will react to the original paint). What type of plow points do you have: one piece Super Chiefs or 2 piece Plow Chiefs? BobG in VA

Is there any casting numbers on the plow? Measure across from the landslide to the trailing edge of the plow point to see what size plows are on it. Should be 12-inch or 14-inch. I had one of these on a Super C with the fasthitch I never looked at the plow other than to hitch it to the tractor. It sold me on the fasthitch.

Hugh McKay may see this posting and he has a lot of manuals from his farming days. He's very knowledgeable of these IH plows. Hal
