I have been hired to iron out a charging problem on a 1950 Cub (12" front wheels)
The owner had a 12 volt battery on it- I discovered the generator and regulator to be 6 volt- so.. I found many different case size 6 volt batteries available, group 1-6- what was correct for that Cub?

Jim:

If you look at the Cub Manual Server under Implement and Part Sketches you will find a project called Rudi's Battery Box.

This will probably be of interest and help you solve your problem.

It was precisely the new Group 1 battery sizes that prompted the eventual design of a new battery box to correct the problem. However, you will see that by using a used mouse pad the problem has been by-passed on this particular made to original spec sizes battery box.

Here is the actual link, I hope it will work. Cut and paste it into your browser.

Please let me know if this has been of use to you.

I am sure it is the group one size and just to let you know it still doesn't fit just right into the box when you try to put the top on it but you can make it work.
