I posted about this #$%%^ bushing a few weeks ago, thanks to everyone that helped. My problem now is that I think the brass bushing is too long!!! I installed it ALL of the way in, reamed it to .2505" but can't get the throttle shaft in far enough to get the butterfly in correctly. The butterfly screw holes don't quite line up with the throttle shaft holes. Could it be the brass bushing is just too long. The Throttle shaft and brass bushing are new IH and the butterfly is NOS. Thanks!!

How clean is the hole on the other side?

Thanks for replying. The hole is clean, I wire brushed it (round wire brush). It did look like the end had a taper on it, it wasn't machined flat. The new bushing has a taper too so I put that end in first.

Let me think some more. I have a couple out in the shop that are already taken apart, I'll go look.

Look at the plate, if it is a complete circle, the bushing must be smoothed to match the contour of the bore. A dremmel grinder with a drum sander works well.
