Thought I"d let you guys know - on the pto I was asking about last week. Turns out, the reason it quit working was a little pin that holds the linkage together fell out. Gave the boys fits all week. I never did get to get in on the project, but they asked a lot of questions and kept me posted on the progress. Funny thing is, I had to pry pretty hard to get them to tell me that a $0.20 part fixed the problem.

I think ACES called it.

Thanks Guys!
Mitch

Now that ya figured it out did ya put a gauge on it to reset the pressure ??? if ya did not do that well maybe ya got lucky and maybe ya did not time will tell , ya have to have that cute littel special fitting to hook up a gauge ya can buy it from Case I H if ya find a dumb partsman and just give him the # and tell him to order it . THe dealer around here will not order special service tools for you but i snuck two of them thru as on the 14"s and 15"s ya need two to set and check pressure.

Mitch That is just what I thought. It is on the control valve and it keeps the control valve together, about the only thing that can stop the PTO all at once.

Walked my 1066 about 8 miles yesterday evening. That thing will get your ears to ringing going up hill. Quiet as a mouse down hill. Dought $0.20 is gonna fix that.

Local red shop wants $1200 for just the ring gear/pinion set plus labor. Bet this is probably gonna touch $2K before I'm done, but I can't stand it being the way it is. :>(
