I have a 51 H that has a M W clutch located on the left side of the rear housing. The handle is missing and it has a patch welded on it. The local salvage yard has never heard of it and local dealers are unsure if it disengages the PTO with tractor in gear or if it disengages the drive wheels with the PTO still running like a modern 2 stage clutch. Also where can I get a replacement part?

The May-June 2005 issue if Red Power Mag talked about aftermarket parts. Yes the hand clutch on the left pinion shaft would allow the pto to stay in gear and hydraulics to work while the wheels would stop. A different pinion was used. You could'nt shift gears but you could start and stop the tractor. M&W was sold at Columbus NE. Don't know if it is still. #402 564-5993. They should know who does if they don't.
