Got home from the hospital the other day was walking around looking at things I really don't need any more to help pay the bills. After taking inventory the wife came up with a very good point the 706 over the past 5 years has had enough money spent on it to pay for several of the doctors and lab,and x-rays. A guy just never thinks about what he spends on a tractor till some thing pops up! Now that the wife is numer one tractor driver she wants to trade the 706 for a 560 or another smaller tractor she can use well now she's the boss and I watch.

Short Bolt I know what you mean. I have a 1066 hydro with only 4200 actual hours on. This tractor has ben a big money pit, and im not done spending money on it yet. I still won't part with it. Keith

Short Bolt: One other item I forgot to mention. If your talking 6 cylinder gassers, they have been mony pits since the day they were new. Doesn't matter whether it be 706, 560, 460, 656 or 756.

I had 560 and 656 diesels and for the first 10,000 hours they were close to trouble free. Engines were 100% trouble free. With good maintainence the other IH diesels will be no different.

Short Bolt: Be CAREFUL, often times folks will spend money on at tractor for several years, get discouraged and say that is enough. You might just trade the tractor off for another that needs all the same items repaired as your 706 did. You may have the 706 just about conquered. A 560 in same condition as your 706 isn't going to create much saving for you.

I have a friend making a good living taking all those new parts off cars people gave up on.

What makes you thing that a 560 is not a money pit? 706 is a better tractor than a 560, at least when new--when 40-50 years old, all bets are off.
