Well i gave up on buying the 504 for now and i bought a 706 gas with a wide front end. It also has 3 point, 2 remotes, 2 ptos and clam shell fenders. It has 18.4 -34 rear tires...ive never seen a 706 with 34s...its a row crop and i thought they all came with 38s? Where 34s a option? It runs great and was just painted so it looks great too...and the ta works good. I paid $3500, which i think is a good price?? Hows it going to be on gas is the question? Iam just going to use it to do a little field work and the rest of the time it will be used on haybine and baler. Do you think its worth what i paid for it?

My 706 has the 18.4-34 tires on it. Seems like a lot of the early ones especially the gassers around here had them. It will take a lot of gas if worked hard but for light work it's not bad. Might be cheaper to run than a diesel now since diesel is 75 cents higher than gas. One thing make sure you run 93 octane gas if you work it hard or you will be melting pistons! $3500 sounds in the ball park if every thing is in top condition.

John: Sounds like you did ok on the purchase of your 706 gas. Hope it turns out well for you ! But beware it won't run well on regular gas, it will knock and putt! They are really heavy for the horse power they make. The 263 was good in a 560 but the 706 is over rated. My 706 is much the same as yours, except I have 15.5x38's. Not saying you will feel the same way in a year, But I would or will trade my 706 for a good 560 in a heart beat I wished I never seen my 706!!

Not sure why you don't like a 706 but it just maybe that it is not set correctly or someone at one time switched engines or did a rebuild with old style pistons or whatever but i have had somany 706's that i have lost count and yes there were some problems but nothing that ya can't work out . I use to love finding them in the DEAD ROW of a sale and usualy in a couple days they were up and running and running strong on top of my computer desk is full of trophies won with a junky old 706 narrow ft fast hitch gasser with old 15.5x38's from the 8500lbs class thru the 14500 like to see a 560 do that been there done that. Or a 560 pull silage wagons that weigh in at over 19000lbs it would shove the 560 even with fluid in the tires and weights out past the wheels .
