Here is a photo of the part number and date from the engine in my McCormick 214A cotton picker. The manual states it should have the Black Diamond 240 CID engine. If I am not mistaken, the N date code is 1968? The production run for the 214A was from 1959 to about 1962, so this must be a replacement engine, hence the ground and restamped number. Any idea on what size this engine is, and if it has sleeves or not. I think the number is 316281R1. Thanks.

JG

John, I cant help with your particular engine, but I can tell you I have two Ms with IH replacement engines, both are identical to the regular M engines in everyway, except for the fact they have block off plates and plugs where say like a fuel pump would go if the engine were used for a power unit or something.Maybe your engine is the same way.

International Harvestor Cotton Picket Model 622 in reply to El Toro, 10-14-2005 15:38:44
I am looking for a manual on a IH 622 cotton picker. If you could help me I'd appreciate it. I am scrapping out 3 of these and want to use the hydrostat drive on an old winch truck.

Thanks,
Dick Shuford

My local IH dealer gave me this number 1-262-636-7540 and they should be able to supply a manual on your cotton picker. I think this is their main HQ in Wisconsin. Here is a another number
on manuals, they're the I & T shop manuals I didn't see any on cotton pickers, but that doesn't
mean they don't have it or can get one. 1-800-262-1954. I have one of these I & T manuals on the lettered tractors, I've had it for 30 years
and it was sold by the former Central Tractor. Hal
