I need to buy a battery for my M. Currently I do not have a battery box but plan on purchasing an oem replacement in the future. The next time your tinkering around your tractor will someone please measure their battery box on their H or M, and give me the dimensions so I can buy the right size battery now and wont have to buy a second battery to fit in the box.

Went home at lunch and remembered your request. Measured my box as follows: 11 3/4 wide by 7 1/4 inches. 8 1/2 deep. Hope this helps. I am in the process of getting mine back together and will post pictures when I do. If I can be of help let me know.

Thanks Charles, you probably saved me from having to buy an additional battery after I get a new box. I'll keep an eye out for your pics. Mine is a 1947 model, I'm still working to get'er running but don't think it will take much more work. I'll try to post a pic sometime soon also.

You are welcome. This has been an enjoyable experience to find this site. A lot of nice people that know tractors. The only dimension that I was not positive on was the height. You could probably get away with a 9 1/2 inch battery or 10 inch. If you need more help let us know.
