Just got the ole A running <-----excited about that. Question,

I have been looking at rims and tire sizes. I seem to lean toward a slightly big diameter tire for the back. My opinion is the A just looks better with a little bit bigger tire. But what should I put on the back of this Farmall A size-wize. I see 8x24's and 9 x 24's and 11.2 x 24's and my A has a set of 12 x24's on it now. I think they look good, but would like it to have a wheel that is a little more original than what it has now. Is there a good place to by rims and tires from. I have one original stamped wheel that is in good shape for the left and I understand I may need a cast wheel for the right. Feel free to throw your opinions my way.

Thanks,

MACE

What is the width of your present rims. A 7in rim with 9.5s looks real bad. But 9.5s look great on a 8in rim. Just remember that three sizes were available when the tractor was built. What do yours measure? A 8in will measure 9 outside.

I like the smaller tires better. I have 11.2 X 24's and wish they were smaller. Ground speed is slower and implements fit better with small tires. Front should be 4.00 X 15 by the way. Having said that it's your tractor and to each his own. Dave.

Cast wheel on the right is important for traction and safety (rollover to left). Even then, an additional weight on that side will ballance traction better.
Glad it operates, Medium tire choice is my vote.
