This weekend I went to a tractor scrap yard and saw several SMTA rear ends. No complete tractors, mainly just the tranny/clutch/axles. Is there any value to these units? With the prices of SMTA's going up, I was wondering at what point it would be worth it to rebuild these into tractors.

How much of the 350 diesel was there?

It was fairly complete, but very rough. I'm sure the engine is stuck since the exhaust pipe is gone. Email me and I will send a photo.

Are you sure they were SMTAs? 400s and 450s would look very similar, if not identical.

I'm pretty sure they were SMTA's, or at least one was. There was a pair of 400/450's there that I could identify, along with a 350 Diesel. He did have several SM's.
