Two questions on an M

We picked up a '41 M (by the serial #) yesterday. Doesn't run, but it is loose, will turn w/starter. Good dual loader on it, nearly new fronts, one rear holds air, & the other-well, we won't talk about that one. Its serial # has an "X6" at the end of it. I think the "X6" means low speed gears, at least thats what the "X6" means if its at the end of a serial # on an H.

The two questions for anyone that knows - (1) are we correct, does the "X6", does it mean low speed gears in an M, & (2) if they are low speed gears, does anyone know what the speeds for each gear are? Thanks in advance! (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

I have that info somewhere, but can't find it know. X6 is correct, I think this gives you a one mile per hour 1st gear. All other gears remain the same.

That low first gear sure sounds good for the chopper. Glenn F.
