While I'm awaiting UPS to bring me back my governor, and thus while the radiator is off, should I try and flush the cooling system in the engine and/or the radiator, and is there any best way? Just use a hose in the top line and let 'er run out the bottom one? I got some crud out the petcock on the radiator while draining the coolant, is why I'm thinking about it.

When I flush a cooling system I do it on a running tractor. I use vinagar in the cooling system and run it till good and warm and then when cool drain it. Then I hook a hose to the block drain and back flush it for about an hour or 2. I gave up on the flush stuff you get at parts stores because it doesn't work a well as vinagar and cost twice as much.

Well, I pulled the sleeves out of my C and found 2 inches of crud in the water jacket. I usually use a garden hose to flush the block and radiator, but I usually flush the radiator unside-down, it just seems to get more crap out.
