PTO Help

I just purchased a used Case IH DX33 tractor with 100 hrs use. Today I was using it and noticed the amber light that indicates the PTO in use was lit. The PTO was off and to my knowledge has not been used. Now I can't start the tractor. The system is dead. Guess a sensor thinks the PTO is on and will not allow it to start (motor will not even turn over). Anyone else experience this or have any suggestions or solutions to the problem.
Thanks.

The PTO lever may have been pushed off neutral just enough to open the safety switch. Try holding the key in start position and wiggling the PTO control back and forth, it may start. Another possibility is that the switch has loosened from vibration and no longer makes contact with the PTO control in any position, or a wire could have fallen offor shorted out.
