I know a lot of you guys don't post on the Red Power Forum, so I thought I should put a few pictures up of the baler I asked about here several months ago. I finally got it all painted up and restored, with the exception of I don't have the new pickup teeth on it yet.

This baler was demonstrated by the Hays Implement Co. in Monroe City, MO in 1957. It was sold new to the Robert Keller farm in Monroe City that same year.

The last picture is what it looked like when I bought it at auction back in the early spring.

 Need Advice on Hauling Baler in reply to 46 baler, 10-08-2005 21:58:44
Hello Fellows;

I am preparing to make a long distance haul of an IH model 47 baler that I just bought over the internet. I need some advice on the size of trailer best used. Specifically, the one most important factor is the distance, outside to outside, between the tires. If anyone can tell me that dimension it would be most helpful.

Thanks
George

Nice restoration on the baler Bill. I have loaded many of bales behind on of them. Later my dad bought a 47 which was'nt much different. Now i have a 435 and that does have little more capascity then the other two.

Looks VERY nice! Careful attention to detail. Sharp 560 too. What years did they make the 46 baler? Thanks, Glenn F.

Thanks for the nice comments guys.

The decals came from a NOS set that I found on ebay. They were in very nice shape for as old as they were. I was very glad to find them, becuase all of the originals on the baler were not readable, so I wouldn't have had any way to have them re-made. Only thing is that the model designation decals were not in the set, so I have to find someone to make them for me.

Here's another picture although it's not very good quality.
