Okay, I've got the head and crankshaft to my 100 at the machine shop. I've ordered a complete re-build kit for the engine and after I get the *&^%$ steering wheel off the shaft, I'll refurbish the steering unit and I just might be able to see some light at the end of the tunnel on putting this thing back together after a year of work.

So, what do I do? I buy a model B, drive it 15 miles to the house and lie awake at night mentally taking it apart (good tin, front and rear engine seals leak like crazy, the blow-by on the rings pushes oil out of the air filter and the engine couldn't pull the hat off your head--but otherwise a good old tractor).

I'm nuts.

I call it the beginning.
If you are attached to a second individual, or progenye, sure to maintain the relationship. Getting them entheusiastically involved is best!

Well, that would be my ten year old son who I haven't seen in 2 years. Mix a vengeful ex with $$$ for lawyers that would characterize a father as "unfit" because he rode that son on "dangerous farming equipment" (a 706 out in the pasture) and a politically correct judge and you can fill in the rest.

Sorry for the personal stuff but that hit a sore spot. Anyone out there who thinks their children belong to them needs to wake up. In reality they are wards of the state and can be removed from you with the stroke of a pen.

Robert; this should have been another topic. How ever, I got tell you I know the pain from experience. My son now 20 is in the Navy and when he gets out , he wants to come home to me, not his mother. She did every thing she could think of to keep me and the kids apart and tried to make them hate me. Now they are older and can see that. They ended up craving to be around me, cause I kept my cool so to speak. I used discipline on them just the same. My daughter, wants to come live with me now, and can next summer. Just keep in contact with them and burn it in their brains no matter who says what about you & that you will always listen to them. Act like their best friend without them knowing it, that's the best way to know how they feel about you and can help in guiding to the direction they need. The more the ex wants them to hate you , the better ; keep contact. LOL

Sorry to have pulled that string, not intended.
I'll wager that in a few years there will be a time he wishes for that taste of reality you provided. Best of luck, and enjoy those Farmalls.

I call it an addiction. But vintage tractors harm a lot less people than a lot of other addictions. Do it if you can and enjoy it.
