Learning as I go.
Lesson # 1 with this, my first tractor: no local garage to drive it to. This ain't like owning a car.
*sigh*

Learning as I go.
I want to pull my governor on my Super A. It's leaking oil, besides having way too much 'slop' between the speed change lever and the rockshaft arm. Farmall dealer 40 miles away says he ought to have any part I need. Says he: "Yeah, go ahead and pull it. See what ya got".

Front fender's off. Do I have to remove the radiator and it's shroud to be able to get the governor out? Or can I squeak it past? There's maybe a short inch of clearance pulling it toward the side, but there's room toward the fan blades, where I could lift it up, and then out. I think.

The governor can be removed with the radiator in place on a Farmall A so the Super A should be the same.

You set the #1 cylinder to TDC first, right?

LOL!
Now you guys are yanking ME!

Akmed tells me its a radiator grille, not a dang fender. I don't know WHAT I was thinking. *blush*

Thanks, Wayne. That's what I needed. Didn't want it loose in my hands, to find it wouldn't come out.

If you're careful you should be able to get the governor housing with out the gear, and YES the governor gear IS timed. Not a biggy with a distributer, but esential with a mag.
