Wayne, can you describe what"s going on with a little more detail? Same problem as before? You say you"ve cleaned the orifice, but what kind of shape is the screen in?

The screen is gone from the orifice. The top hole with the piston out, I can push the valve in the back with my figure and move. The bottom hole with the piston and spring out I can not move the valve in the back. The local IH dealer told me not to worry about the screen. What I did is what they would do and didn't know why it didn't work. I really don't know what to do next. It definitely is not working. It is under pressure all the time unless you are moving the lift. The book I have shows are the parts are correct and assembled correctly. I wounder about the lower valve only because it is called a valve in the book I have and a valve to me should move. I am stumped. Thanks for all your help, I really do appreciate it, Wayne

Wayne, does this tractor have a fast hitch with the Tel-a-Depth valve? Those valves had a spider gear setup inside and the gears were known to break and cause trouble. I'm not familiar with that valve or what the symptoms are, but it's worth looking into. Have you tried removing and totally disassembling the saftey/regulator valve?

From the book I have it does not have the Tel-a- Dept set up. The lift control lever on your right goes direct to the valve body. There is no other linkage to the lift system. On my left there is a lever you can raise or lower, but it doesn't connect to the hydraulics that I can see. It doesn't matter what position the hydraulics are in- All up- all down or in between. If they are not moving, the engine loads down from the pressure by not passing.I really do want to thank you for all your help. Any idea what to do next, Wayne
