Don't get fuzzed up guys but look what followed me home. I had my Super C at a show a few weeks ago at our local college, MSU. And I got there late after church and found some of our tractor club in the usaul spat over what color is best. I said you now I like most all of them, even green. That raised some eyebrows. Someone asked what tractor would you like if it wasn't a Farmall. And I said I would love to have a narrow front old Case cause my grandpa that died the week I was born farmed with one. They all died laughing and said a couple just came through asking if anyone wanted to buy a 1941 Case. Long story short, 3 of us went to look at it and it followed me home for $300. The owner runs a stained glass shop and it was his dads tractor. He is going to write down the history of the tractor as best he can and send it to me. I know it's not a Farmall but I wanted to share it with you. Sorry Bob M it's not a MM either.
Paul
PS. He had it running in 1999 but told me he knows it needs a ring gear. The engine turns over with the crank and seems to have a lot of compresion for what that's worth.

Hey Paul - Looks good to me....especially at that price!

Incidentally a buddy of mine has a twin to it. While it"s not exactly red, it"s still nice old tractor.

Congratulations! ...Bob M

Paul My granddad bought either the first or second Regular sold in Greene Co. There is a little bit of an argument overthat, with a friend of mine. he still has the one his Dad bought. We had IH only on the family farms until the last few years, when one uncle bought a pail green one, and a few years ago an nother uncle bought a? well it doesn't have a name on it, but the AC works. I remember asking my Dad once if he quit IH tractors what would he get and he said Case.

Tom if you built a shop that covered an acre, it still wouldn't be big enought.

Paul I say congrats on a nice looking model SC tractor. Ill have to admit I just yesterday brought home my first Case a model DC on propane. I got it from a friend here local. Im what you call bitractoral(I like all brands of tractors). LOL! Yes Hugh, the models SC and DC were kinda ugly. Maybe so ugly they were beautiful. Rest sure that I still like IH best.

There were 2 brothers near me that farmed with Cases just like that when I was a kid (many years ago) and they retired wealthy. Their grandsons are still farming with Case/IH and they enphasise the CASE.

Paul-

Thanks for sharing the story and the picture. I guess I'm kind of like you; I like all colors. Yes, I have my favorites (notice I said favorites PLURAL). These would include my Ford 2N, my Farmall Super C and my John Deere A. But I also like my Supoer H, my JD B, my MM RTU and my Allis-Chalmers D10 III that is a whisker away from running. But I also like those old Cases and want to add one to my collection some time. (Know where there is a nice one and am keeping in contact with the owner trying to persuade him to sell.) Anyway, I think you "done good!"

Over my lifetime, not so long though, my father and I have owned several different brands. JD A and 2010, (2) SC Case, Farmall MD and H, and a Oliver Super 77. And maybe even more that I cant think of right now. Each model had good things and bad things about it. It is just good to see people who are open minded enough to actually work on more than just one brand. Just keep up the good work and keep us informed about how it runs.

Thanks for sharing the picture, the tractor looks good. I'll never shoot any body down for owning something other than IH, even if it's green and sounds like it is running on only two cylinders. All of these old tractors are fun, and all of them need to be preserved.

Brad: You remind me of the very first year my dad and I plowed a 100 acres. Had a lot of manure to spread that fall, were milking 40 cows. Each day we traded jobs. Farmall 130 with 2x12 fast hitch plow or Farmall 300 with 150 bu manure spreader and a Cockshutt 540 to do the loader work.

That was 20 plus days of plowing even if the plow guy only showed for actual milking and not the whole barn chores. I also remember plowing into the evening after milking.

That is very true. Preserving all of different brands and styles. Without them, the kids who think that life is "hard" now should have been there when it would take most of the day to plow a 40 acre field with a 2 bottom plow and a Farmall H. rather than doing it today with their new CIH and a six bottom in less than 3 hours. just my $0.02 worth. Paul: Do those really go for that kind of dollars? There is one just up road about a mile from me, has a loader on it and wheel chains as well. Been a for sale sign on it for 3 years now. I guess you could call them kind of red, kind of ugly also. The item that always turned me off was that drag link contraption for steering.

We wont hold it against you, just put it away in that new shop quickly then post a photo of the shop.

You know the chicken roost steering may look a little funny, but it is effective. I have been around these all my life ane I have never seen one go wobbling down the road. They are simple and with a minimum on maintenance they run forever. Glenn F.

I drove one of those when I as young with a hay rake behind it. We have ditches in our field and I remember bending that long steering rod. Don't know if I ever saw one that wasn't bent or reinforced. Nice looking tractor.

What could we dislike about a Case. ___They are us__
With a bit of rubber (and some internal stirring) that unit is ready to go. I bet it was stored inside for its whole life. Great find with a personal connection.
It will be great.
