Can anyone tell me if a DT414 will fit in a 806 or 706 diesel? Thank you.

Ryan

It will fit right in and it is not a problem. You will need a truck front engine cover or somehow widen the frame rails in the front and everything else is minor. Alot of people do it. I would buy the 414 and put it in. The 400 seris engines are alot better anyways

Ever notice that a 806 and 1206 have the same size cubes. 1206 has about 30 more hp if that's what your after.

yes they will fit.I'm putting in a 466 into a 706.It's becomeing quite popular around here. Most use a combine engine because you can buy the whole combine for not much money.915 or 1460 dont bring much here.

You can make anything fit if ya want to spend the money and waiste the time doing it and fight all the porob;ems that you will runinto in the prosses and after . If ya want a 414 then just get a 966 or 1066 and be done with it even in the 966 they have had a clutch problem with the smaller clutch if ya add the turbo and twist the screw . Myself i like the 706-806's just as they are , if i need more HP then i get something bigger.

Thanks for the help on the 1256 that cured my clutch problems. The reason I am asking about the motor is I have an 806 that is plumb wore out and I can buy a dt414 about as cheap as I can buy pistons, rings, and liners for the 806. I would not be working the tractor all day long, maybe just pull some wagons, right now she is throwing oil out with the blow by.
