This guy wants $750 for this tractor or its go to the scrap yard. It certainly isn't worth that much, but how much does he think he's going to get for it in the scrap yard. Repairing this tractor, if even possible, is out of my abilities and thats too bad because it is located about an hour from me. Does anyone think this tractor could be repaired? Do you think there are any good parts on it? The cultivator must be worth something.

The "history doesent pay my bills, get a life" comment tells you he is a jacka$$.Let him pay to have it towed out of there.I say top dollar and if he was more polite Id pay no more than $300 for that heap-o-rust.Oh, by the way, with enough money anything can be repaired. You have to know where to draw the line.

I know where that tractor is! I tried to get it a couple years ago and the guy would not sell it. As far as I am concerned that tractor is about as near to Philadelphia as you can get. I don't know the story behind the tractor, but it sure must be interesting. Last I looked at it, I think I figured that the seat on it was from the back end of a Subaru Brat. There is stuff missing off it. I think I remember a tree growing out of it too.

Phlogiston.

If you look at his/her feedback, it appears as if it's a junk/scrap yard to begin with.....Joe

Did y all notice the question and answer below the discription. Some guy was suggesting he be a bit more reasonable about a "Piece of America's History", the guy comes back and answers, " History dosn't pay my bills, Get a life." Oh well I say if he wants to sell it for scrap let him gat about a hundred bucks for it then he might think diffrent. Some people just don't have a clue about what they have. My 2 cents worth. JC

After seeing his response to someones question about him selling it for less and his reply Nat is right. He just wants as much money as he can get for it and he's trying to use someones emotions to do it.

The scraper will give him $150 bucks for it and put it to the side and sell it to a parts yard or collector for $300 or $400. Happens all the time.

I just sold a running one for $800. I'd let him crush it. Sure there is some good parts that shouldn't be destroyed but I guess that's his business. It ain't worth more'n iron price.

Well lets see at $80 per ton and that is around 4000-4500 lbs its worth about $160-200. Going rate in my area for scrap right now by the way. I just hauled in a couple cars yesterday.

Heck, offer him 500 bucks for it. Tell him your offer goes down to 100 bucks for scrap after the bidding closes.

Don't believe for a minute that this tractor is going to the scrapyard. This guy is just using a common ploy to pluck at your heart strings and get you to pay too much for the tractor.

Seems like it's working on you...

If the guy is that dumb, and he'll be in for a rude awakening when he takes it to the scrapyard and they give him $150 for its weight in scrap iron.

After reading the description, I would be willing to bet that the guy IS that dumb. Afterall, he says it has been a lawn ornanment for the last 25 years, he doesn't know what it is, or where it came from. I agree, $750 is too much. If I lived somewhere closer than I do I might be tempted to contact the man after the listing ends and make an offer, you could pretend to be a scrap iron buyer if that's what it takes.
