To answer your question there were 2,705 SMDTA"s built. We picked ours up last year for $1,750. A guy started to restore it and got tired of it. The motor is not stuck. The last thing that he had done to it was rebuild the head. The head is the worse part with the MDs. We also got a complete spare motor with it for parts. I am just starting to work on this tractor.

I paid $300 for mine, but the seller couldn't get it started.

But I really did pay $300 for it. Since I've got lots of Farmalls, sometimes somebody will stop by to tell me where there is one. I checked this one out and it was a running SMTAD with one bad rim. He priced it a $300 so i paid him what he asked. We drug it all over the yard trying to get it started because he was just sure it would run. Later I found a little moisture in the points.
