Hello. I picked up a 1941 Farmall A this summer. I have an L59 Woods belly mower with a manual lift. Are there snow plows made for this tractor? If so, where is the best place to look to find one? And, if there are snow plows for this tractor, is there anyone out there who is selling one? Thanks.

I am in the process of dismantling my snow plow so that I can have the blade supports bent back into shape. I did something wrong with it last winter plowing snow.
I"d be really interested in seeing a custom plow set up on an A without hydraulic since my 44 A has no hydraulics.
The first time I hooked up the plow I was using a handlift without a spring and boy was that tough. This past summer I was able to put a handlift together from all the parts that came with my tractor to make using a bottom plow pleasant. Now I need to hook up the snow plow (after repairs) better then before.
Any suggestions or pictures of working snow plows that anyone can send or direct me to would be appreciated.

Al

There were snow blades for Super A with hydraulic lift and I expect there were handlift blades for the A. Probably the same blade or close. Problem is, very few of these tractors were sold new with blades, probably less than 5%. That makes a factory blade very scarce.

In my opinion, they weren't much of a blade, not built rugged enough. I had one and I sold it and fabricated my own blade. Guess what, I couldn't convince the welder to build the fabricated one rugged enough either. Folks just underestimate these little tractors. I am now in the process of rebuilding my blade. Not hard to convince this welder what needs to be done. He can see all the metal I bent or busted up.

I will have this done in couple of weeks, can e mail you some photos if you wish.

Hugh and Tiny,

Thank you for the thoughts. I will keep looking for an original, but begin talking to some folks who might weld one for me.
