Anybody done business with the Bates Corp in Bourbon, Indiana and do you have comments good or bad? Thinking about buying something but they don't seem to be on the radar.

OK, I'm convinced! I ordered some stuff yesterday. These people seem to have earned a lot of friends. Thanks for the input. Bates will have your checks ready next week (GRin!)

I bought a used grill and a couple of used "International" nameplates from them for my 544. The grill had several broken welds and was missing some pieces. The nameplates had some deep gouges. On the good side, I didn't inspect them until three months later when I unpacked the box. They accepted the return with no questions asked. I was still out the freight though.

I got some rebuild parts for my torque amplifier from Bates. They beat everyone on price by a pretty wide margin and the parts showed up before I was ready for them. ;)

Bought parts from them, both my H and the 300u. No problems at all.

They went and completely redid my tractormeter, and it works and looks great.

I grew up in Bourbon, and know these folks at Bates well. Jim Bates is a very honest & kind man who used to help my Grandfather with his farmalls. I can say that they are probably high priced in some items, But the quality is there & they stand behind everything they sell. You won't find more knowledgable folks when it comes to Farmall. Give them a call & talk to them. You'll see for yourself.

Boy, I dunno Jim,

I bought a lot of stuff from them for my 966. Every item was overpriced and a cheap Chinese rip-off.

I have way better luck with CaseIH. Doubt if I'll ever buy from them again.

I have bought items from them. The are a little over priced but the stuff they sell is pretty nice. the have new after market stuff and used parts as well. The have a huge slavage yard of parts, all good parts have been taken off of the tractors and stored inside, thats why you pay a little more. Its a neat place to visit. and the people know what they are talking about. JP tractor slavege is another source of good used IH parts as well.

On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rank bates as an 8.5

thats what I think anyway. everybody has their own experiences.
