The speed change lever (small one) shaft has some wobble in it. A seal comes in the kit but is there any replaceable bushings to tighten the shaft up or does it need to be bored and fitted with a bushing? It probably has .020 slop in it which would equate to about a 1/8" wobble at the end of the arm. Would it leak much oil?

Thanks,

scott#2

I just rebuilt the govenor on my Super A. New bushing, bearings and shaft were available from Case IH. All were pricey as I recall.

scott, There is a felt seal on the outside counterbore that should slow down oil leakage. On my Super A I had the same problem, I ended up reaming the existing bore in the govenor and making a new shaft to accomadate the bore. You could also do as you suggest, and have the govenor housing bored and then bushed back to spec. There is no kit that I am aware of. Let me know how you make out.
