Will try to make this short. I am looking at two 400's. One is in ruff shape with a rusted out rim but has a tube in it to hold air. Front tires are from a car and have no tread on them. Does not have power steering but does have a wide front org. it also has a fast hitch and a three bottom fast hitch plow that goes with it.
The other 400 has no fast hitch just draw bar like new tires front and rear also wide front org. never been painted but paint is desent has power steering. Both have toqures that work. What are these two tractors worth. I like the one with the newer tires and power steering. Want to use it to pull a 12' IH disk and maybe a three bottom trailer plow. Doing about ten ac now own 45ac and want something that would do all in a short time

I wouldn't even consider the first one unless it is dirt cheap, then you could buy it, rob the fast hitch, put the hitch on the good one and sell what is left of the junker. The wide front end should be worth at least $500 unless it is all beat up and welded.

A 12 foot disk would make that 400 grunt good.
I pull a 10 footer with mine and she grunts good with that.
400 will pull a 3 bottom plow real good.

Farmall 400's are a great buy for a tractor right now. Not a whole lot demand but they sure are a good tractor.

I would get the one with the newer tires, power steering and a wide front. $2500 maybe $3000 if its real nice.

I paid $1700 for mine with a loader but had to do a little tranny and TA work.

Love those 400's would take 3 if I could get them past Mama.
