After world war 2 International Harvester realized that a lot of the soldiers coming home were taking jobs off of the farm where they had grown up, but still wanted to live on a farm and do a little bit of farming. The Farmall Cub was introduced and targeted to these 'gentleman' farmers.

River, back in the 60's, the wife and I would take a vacation and head out to Georgia from Texas to visit her folks, She would harp on me on the way, not to start any trouble with her uncle's and Cousin's when we got there. We were down below Bowden Georgia, when I spotted a farmer behind a walk'n plow being pulled by a Cub. I pulled over to the side and stopped. The wife asked why I stopped, I said look'a there" one of your kinfolk has taught his dang Mule to drive a tractor! And I got hit up side the head with a baby bottle. No offence ment to anyone in Georgia, the wife's kinfolk, and folks in general, were some of the best people I've ever met in my life.

The original use was for small farms, intended to replace a horse or mule.

they are a nice little garden tractor and about all. Don't have enough power or weight to do a
farming project.

basicly to replace a team of horses or mules but once the farmer bought one he found meny uses for them. if the pilgrims had cubs and chainsaws there would not be a tree standing from the east to the west coast.

Small farm, truck farm type tractor.

A wide variety of farm implements are available for the Cub. Naming a few; plow, disc, mower, planter, cultivater, saws, feed mills, etc.
