I am still trying to fix thix blame thing. I have not taken it apart but during an inspection I have noticed a large plug looking like thing on the top left side of the pto. What is it and is there anything to adjust below it.

There are tickelish adjustments on these units. They have brakes, and bands inside that are adjustable. A book is the best resource. Ours had the lever and keyway on the axle get loose and allow massive slop (It quit working) check to be sure the linkage is solid and then adjust as the book describes. Ours has been used hard its whole life without replacing inside parts.
