When mounting a wide front end to a SM, how important is the use of the bevel washers. Would regular washer work just as well? The adapter plate does not have a hole for the radiator drain any suggestions? Thanks for the help!!

Any store that sell nothing but bolts, nuts and studs would probably have beveled washers.
Here's a website that has beveled washers. When the website appears on your computer screen and you see "New Product Search" in the upper right hand of your screen type in "beveled washers". Hal

The inside of the frame rail where the bolt goes through is also beveled, I'd sure use the beveled washers if you have them.
