I'm about to install a pyrometer on my 826D and wonder what the consensus would be for a maximum sustained EGT when at work. I'll be plowing again soon, so I'll have a chance to see. I also have an extra oil temp gauge, so I'll find a spot and install that too.

Jim, in case you didn't see it, I posted the 886 specs on page 1.

You did not say if it had and after market turbo or not . I would not get upset if it was running in the 950 to 1000 under a real hard pull but it should be in the neighbor hood of 650 -850.

Jim, I don't have an 86 series Operater's manual in front of me, but if you were to check one, it would give you the max EGT for a late-model 886, which ran a 358 at about the same horsepower as a 826. I could check and let you know tommorow night.

Hey that would be great K.B. I have the 826 operator's manual, and it doesn't have that info. I just got the Nebraska test info and it doesn't either. I use 950 degrees for my trucks, but that might be apples to oranges. I guess the 886 had a pyro, huh?

Yep, a digital dash with a pyro was optional on most 86 and 88 series tractors.
