Looks like I blew the timing gears on my International 350U. Does anyone know a good (cheap) source for these? I've got to get this thing in order before the snow flies and I'm snowbound. Thanks

I would agree with Bob M on new gears. The timing gear is probably a press fit and would be easier to pull the camshaft and use a hydraulic
press to remove and install the new gear. Hal

Hal -

The cam gear is keyed to the camshaft extension with a woodruff key - a half-height, fine thread nut clamps the gear hub to the shaft.

My experience is the cam gear slides off easily after removing the hub nut - no need to remove the camshaft from the engine! ...Bob

Carter & Gruenenwald (www.cngco.com) stocks new gears. They're not exactly cheap - I think I paid about $160 for a cam gear several years ago. But delivery is quick and parts are factory fresh.

Note: The 350's live pump places a heavy load on the cam drive gear - I'd be hesitant to install a used gear here! OTOH the idler and governor drive gears carry essentially no load - installing used parts here should be OK.

You're probably going to end up talking to a salvage dealer. The link below gives a pretty good listing of those in the US. For what you probably need I'd suggest JP Tractor Salvage in Missouri - I've had pretty good luck with them.
