Numbers on right side next to water C221 46743.If this is just a 221 cubic inch motor it sure is a powerful little thing. My stock 460 and MTA have less HP.I bought it at an auction about 4yrs ago for $900. Battery was dead and did not start at auction.Next day jumped it and drove it on the trailer.I have mowed all my hay with it since about 100acres a year using a 9ft conditioner. Run a 10"by 70ft auger all fall and still running fine. Lucky I guess. What was the motor normally put in? Thanks for help.

Tractor data doesn't list the C221 for the 560, but it was probably the same as used in the 460. Hal

That's correct. The 560 should have a C263.

I think the C221 and C263 block are the same, so this powerful little C221 could be a sleeper, maybe bored out, with the C263, or even C291 sleeves and pistons so the tractor has the horsepower of a true 560, 706, 756, or even a 766.

That was the engine used in the 460 gas version.
The 460D used the 236cid engine. The C221 was probably used in other tractors too. Hal
