What would anyone recommend for the maximum brush hog size that a Farmall A could swing? I'd be mostly mowing large tall stalky weeds, not johnson grass.

Don't want to give any info that may cause You to overload Your machine, but my neighbor to the South pulls a 6ft Woods mower all mowing season, and has used the same little model B tractor for 35 years. I pull a 6 ft Mohawk with an H and cut in 4th gear and never have any problems. Just keep the blades sharp and there should be no problems with 6 ft or smaller shredders. Another factor would be density of the vegetation where You are working-We get far less rain in this part of the country and don't have problems with moisture content in the weeds/grass gumming up the shredder-Good Luck

HAS, It will run a 4ft rotary mower without much problem. Some fellas have even used a 5ft if only mowing field grass and if not too high with no hills.

My Super A will pull a 5' brushhog through most anything.
