i had problems with my h leaking all the time. i replaced the needle and seat, numerous adj ect. no good. turns out the top bowl gasket was deformed and the float would hang up on it. a little carving with a razor knife cured it. also check to see if the float is bent and rubbing on the bowl. you may have to bend it a little . my w-9 had that problem and didnt get enough fuel.

Maybe if its a rubber tipped seat. The trcik is to remove the float and then put the needle in and give it a couple taps with a small hammer or something like that. You don't need to tap it very hard, what that does is sort of form the end to the seat.

Got that from an old guy that did carbs for a living, always seems to help when I've done it but you never know. Carbs can be funny at times. I've done 100 plus and every once in a while I have to go in to them 2 or 3 times to get things right.

Old,
Thanks for that little tidbit of info, I rebuild a lot of small carbs and have good luck, but the one on my M is driving me off the deep end, new float, new needle and seat, does not flood, but turn off tractor and the floodgate of $3.00 fuel opens, have to try that.
Jim

OLD, I DON,T LIKE WORKING ON SUNDAY BUT THAT CARB HAS BEEN "EATING MY LUNCH" AS WELL. MINE WAS DOING THE SAME, NOT SO MUCH FLOODING AS POURING OUT WHEN I CUT THE TRACTOR OFF. I WENT TO THE SHOP AFTER CHURCH, PULLED THE CARB OFF, TAPPED THE "NEW" NEEDLE SEAT, RE-ADJUSTED THE FLOAT A LITTLE. WALLA. NO MORE FUEL DOWN ON THE GROUND. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE INFO. HAVE A GREAT DAY AND GOD BLESS. FRANK
