Curiosity is getting the best of me.
I traded for a 1954 Super H Stage 2 a few days ago, but don’t have it home yet nor do I have any manuals yet.
Standing in front and looking toward the grill, there is a round hole on each side about one quarter down from the top.
I don’t remember seeing them on the H.
What are these holes for?

Thanks!
Gary

The front bolster was changed with holes on corners and mounting of culivators changed.A bracket bolted behind the grill and threaded holes lined up with holes in grill. In YT photo ad # 112808 posted 9-13 kind of hard to see, but looks like the eye bolts are still through holes.
The bolster and grill may have showed up on a few stage 1 SH. Theres some debate on that.Where are you located in WV.

Super H's and M's had the extra widespaced holes for culivator braces. H did not have them.

Stage II Super H and MTA had the wide spaced holes as the front bolster was cast differently than the H, Stage I Super H, M and Super M which had the narrow spaced holes for attaching cultivators and other bracing.

WE always used them to mount spray rigs on. I sprayed 180 ac of corn with the boom mounted on the front. I don't remember how it all connected but I do know we ran the pump off tractor PTO and spraying was really unheard of to kill grass with back in those days. It worked. My grandfather ran a 400ac farm with mules but I always had to do his tractor work with a H or M . He was an oldtimer that was afraid to drive them, but he would pay for them. He ran his mules until the age of 81 years old and passed 2 years after that; what an example.

Here is a picture that I found in the gallery that shows one of the round holes I'm speaking of.

He means the two widely spaced ones, they were not on the H, only the two in the middle.
