Paul, I was up at my brothers shop yesterday and mentioned your situation with the DT436. As I started to explain how your tractor runs until it is good and warmed up and that it will die. Before I could finish explaining your situation my brother said "and then it won't start". He said it is a problem with the head. I didn't ask for details but I'm sure that this isn't something that you want to hear. I'm sure that he can expound on this if you want to give him a call. Randy

Hi Randy
Thanks so much for additional research. If he doesn"t mind, I think I will ask him to explain a bit. It doesn"t seem to me like weak valves would have that effect, but someone else had suggested that too. Oh well, my wife"s always telling me that it"s "all in my head" too. I guess I should have listened to her! LOL! I guess that can be a winter project. BRRRRR..... someday maybe I"ll have a heated shop that I can get that stuff into.
For now I"ll just hook the chisel plow up to the W-4, or the F-12.
Thanks again. I"ll try to post back to let all know what fixed the problem, although it may be a while. Nothing seems to happen fast around here.
Paul

Just a guess but I bet he is refering to the pump head and not the cylinder head. It is the round part all of the injector lines come out of. It is a common fail item on those ambac pumps.

You are correct. I was thinking cylinder head for some reason, but when I talked to him, he said it was the pump head. I kind of figured it would be the pump, but some other folks suggested that the valves were weak and that got me on a different track.
I guess it"s still all in my head!
Paul
