Just bought an H tonight but didn't get it home yet. Not sure of the year but I know it's a late one. It has black on the serial plate like the supers and some of the controls are set up them as well. I noticed on the governor on the right side of it towards the carb there is a screw, like and adjusting screw for the spring.what is this. I was told the engine was rebuilt but was just left sit and now it's stuck. It has exellent tires on the back and new fronts as well as rear wheel weights. Paid $600 for it, don't think I paid to much for it

if the tires are good as you say they are half that price or more use patience she should break loose ok like others say trans. fluid in cylinders can try kerosene and a product called marvel mystery oil you can get at auto part house maybe even wal-mart if it has ahand crank you might pull on that some after a soak just dont force it.

When you get it home pour some transmission fluid
into each cylinder and let it soak. After 4 or 5 days just bump the starter to see if the engine
will move. Don't have the plugs in when doing this. Keep pouring a little more tranny juice into the cylinders. You need to be patient too.
A few days later bump the starter again. Hal

the screw that you are asking about is the 'hunting' adjustment. these governors were used on power unit applications. i have two of these governors.
