I have question about F-20 F&H wheels. I hear everyone talk about F&H round spoke wheels but I have have a set of F&H Wheels on one of my parts tractors that have spokes made out of square bars. They clearly say F&H on them, and they have the exact same center hub piece as the round spokes. They are not cut offs. I have a set of those as well and I do know the differance. I was just wondering if anyone can give me some info. I can take a picture tonight when I get home if that would help. Thanks for any info you folks can give me.

Jonathan would you be interested in selling the F&H cast wheels and rims? I have 39 F-20 that came with these and the rims are destroyed and some of the wedges that hold the rim to the cast are missing.

H&F made wheels like that for 1939 John Deeres. I haven't seen them on Farmalls but I wouldn't doubt they were an option.

There are sets out there made by French & Hecht that are flat spoke like you noted. The difference with these are that the rims are demountable, that is the rims all not one piece. These are not nearly as common as the round spoke single piece rims types. I bet that's the type that you have. Am I right??

The ones that I have are all one piece. when you look at the rim with a tire dismounted you see were the bar go though the rim and is welded to the center hub. there is no way that the rim is dismountable rom the hub. youm ight be thinking about the IH cast center rim with the dismountable rim kind of like is on the later letter series. i have a set of those as well.

I think the key thing you said was "welded". All factory rims that had this flat spoke (at least that I know of) the spokes were "swaged" into the rim, meaning pressed and clamped by extreme hydraulic pressure with absolutely no welding. If you see evidence that the spokes were welded onto the rims then these were steel wheels that were cut off and nicely welded onto rims. Could you take a closeup picture of where the spoke attaches to the rim?
