That is a pretty low houred tractor. I thought a gentleman recently listed an auction report for one at $6,750. Yes, it will use more gas than a diesel, but if used easily and not a huge amount of hours annually, it may be some time before the diesel fuel advantage is realized.

I would have to respectfully disagree, they are huge guzzlers just like the 706 gas. About the only thing worse would be buying an 806 gas tractor. At $3.00 a gallon for gas, it would not take long to eat up the difference in value. I think Nat has pretty much got it right.

Given the price of gas and the fact that these tractors are HUGE gas guzzlers, it ain't worth much, maybe $3500 if it's in excellent condition, IMHO.

Just as a comparison, my dad has a 756 gas that we put a diesel engine in over the winter of 2003-2004. In 2004, he used 1200 fewer gallons of gas, and only 300 more gallons of diesel. I don't know if you'd normally see that huge a difference, though.

depends what you want to use it for. I have a 666 gasser. Honest to god field work, it'll go through 30 gallons in a morning, but for chore use (moving bales, cleaning corral, clearing snow etc) it isn't all that bad. And.....it starts no problem in -45° temps.
