Boy, I thought I knew my farmalls, but apparantly I don't. Just got back from the Sandwich, IL fair and saw a Super H Tourque Amplifier. I never knew they existed. To top off my ignorance, the thing had a live PTO!!! Were both of these factory?

Nothing wrong with someone building a Super HTA, I would do it myself if I had the time and resources. All that is necessary is to not present it as factory. A simple answer to the respondent is all that's needed, no need for all the hoopla.

I meant a simple answer to the person asking the question -- I suppose my answer is directed to the "respondents". I have my flak jacket on!

Les, About every 3 months or so we have to clear the air on the proverbial SHTA issue. The answere is always the same. Nope, nada, Uh-uh, never was, won"t ever be one except for a fake. All the below answers apply.

...and inevitably a bunch of people will get their knickers in a proverbial twist over it. What a waste of time, in my opinion...

If IH had manufactured the SHTA, it probably would've been a 300 with Super H sheet metal anyway, just like the SMTA is a 400 with Super M sheet metal... So, what difference does it make if some people build them for their own enjoyment?

Yes, the question should be treated the same as any other question.

The M, SM, SMTA, 400 and 450 are all 90" wheelbase with narrow front. Some wide front setups may give different wheelbase. So will some options give a different overall length, but the basic castings in all 5 tractors are the same length.

You are 100% correct, those super H TAs never did exist. Every single one that you have seen or will see has been built in someones shop. They are nothing more than a Farmall 300 or 350 wearing Farmall H sheetmetal.

I should also add that probably one or two real ones were built by IH, but these were nothing more than test mules to be sure that everything worked before they introduced the Farmall 300. These tractors were then destroyed.

Harley, guess I forgot all about cowman's tractor. Also slipped my mind that I have a genuine 1941 Super H out in the shed.
