Just saw your reply to my post about having the the steering cylinder and clutch booster rebuilt. Like Sloroll said, I guess I did wimp out on those jobs, but I like to send a little work their way just so they don"t forget about me. Got a couple buddys there that always take care of me.

If I"da known that I was gonna get off early today I mighta tore into them myself.

Maybe this"ll make up for it: I just narrowed up the front end of the 1066 this evening (well, 3/4"s of it anyway). Twernt near bout as bad I"d been dreading. I didn"t have one bit of trouble with the axle knees. One tie rod took a little tapping with a shop hammer. I"ve got the other one soaking in the "Deep Creep" rat now.

Mitch

Whaddya mean got off early?!??!? :? ) I'm STILL slaving away. Getting Ducky and another ready to go to Ag Appreciation day in central park (Grinnell) should be a hundred or more tractors this year. Course you have to go to work and stay there to afford showing your iron.

Well if you must know, . . . in reply to Sloroll, 09-07-2005 15:39:22
I went in at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday and worked til sometime after lunch today - Wednesday, I think. So actually, I did get off early today.

Before dark anyway.

Went back to the shed just before dark and took off both tie rods. Both ends are good on the one I can't get to loosen up. The inside end is woe out on the other one.

I tard.

Yesterday I was Tard today reTard. Ineeds a day of myself.

Missed Laborday, guess I just worked on through. I got a buckhead fer a boss.

Good luck fixen up the old girl. She'll handle so much better when you are done. The stuff I play with goes so slow it doesn't matter how sloppy the front play is. If you didn't fight the steering one may get bored racing three legged turtles. I do like the old duckbill F-20 though. It just sings as I sit, crawl along, and enjoy the music.
