Have a C with apparent low oil pressure issues. Do C's have a similar problem to the H's with the oil pump pieces spreadign apart and leaking pressure ?

I would check with a guage that reads pounds first. Your old guage mite not be giving a good reading. The new plates for the bottom of the oil pump can be purchased if yours is warped. Last one i bought was a little over 60 from I-H dealer.

You may need to check your rod and main bearing clearances. That tractor doesn't have cam bearings and there may be some wear in the cam bore too. You may want to look at that oil pump pickup screen for any restriction from sludge.

Yes! And a simple fix. The bottom cover on the pumps bulge after time. Get that fixed and replace the pressure relief spring at the same time. Probably about a $15 fix total and an hour of your time.

Never known an H pump to go bad unless the oil wasnt changed for several years. Pretty much fullproof oil pumps on both tractors unless they have been mistreated. Good luck, Andy
