My 1951 M came with a Heisler 9 speed when I purchased it a year ago. Very nice feature as it adds 4 additional speed ranges between the standard 4th and 5th. There is a 2nd control rod which I'm told disconnects the belly pump drive when using the higher speed gears. Question, do you pull the control rod back or push it forward to disconnect the belly pump so it doesn't overspeed with the Heisler engaged? Don't have a Heisler manual and they are no longer in business so can't go there. Previous owner doesn't really know and without removing a lot of stuff off the tractor can't see up behind the belly pump. Any comments will be most appreciated. Hal

With the tractor running and in low range (normal) let out the clutch and pull the hydraulic lever toward you all the way. if you hear the engine load down just a little, and the lever snaps back in, the pump is engaged. Move the control the other way and try it. now the lever will stay out, indicating no pressure, and thus, no pump drive.
