We recently had our Farmall A rebuilt. They installed the cylinders from a Super A. I never knew about the Super A until then. What's the difference between that and the regular A?

Jared: As Tiny said, hydraulics are the only difference. Cylinders and pistons were the same from the factory. Super A1 did have thiner sleeves and 3-1/8" bore, rather than 3" as on A and SA. These can be installed. The Super A1 is a tractor that was built very briefly at end of peroduction in 1954 and has same specs as Farmall 100. Only 1,957 were ever built. There were also some changes on SA steering about 1951, 3 years after model change from A to Super A.

There were several block changes over the years, but these don't necessarily follow model change either.

scotty: Good afternoon, Yes I did, and thinking you must be in VT, I thought I had all weekend to respond. Left it too late and all H broke loose, nothing serious, just busy. I will get to you in a couple of days. Detroit tomorrow, Toronto Wed. People are eating great amounts of cabbage, thus creating their own gas. Best buy in gas out there.
